The cost of rentals in Spain are continuing their upward trend, setting new records. By the end of 2023, prices had already alarmingly surged, and they have continued to exponentially increase during the first quarter of 2024.
On February 27, the Government revealed the reference index that will regulate rental prices in tense areas throughout Spain, a measure expected since the entry into force of Housing Law 12/2023 in May 2023.
The three rental modalities have their pros and cons, but of all the differences between the different rental contracts, the duration of the contract, the laws that govern them, and the tax implications of each of them are the three to stand out.
